Striders Claim The Podium at Leprechaun Leap

On a frigid cold day in Nashua, NH, the Gate City Striders made an appearance at the Team Earley Leprechaun Leap took command of the NHGP Series early on. The striders won the team competition 203 to 165 over 2nd place Greater Derry Track Club. The defending champions Upper Valley Running Club placed a distant 3rd with 91 team points. Individually, it was SNHU XC alumni Jake Wormald and Souhegan’s Shannon Earley (both repping Gate City) who took the overall titles in 16’25 and 20’05 respectively.

Upper Valley Kicks Off 2015 NHGP With Wooly Syrup Show

The Lebanon Recreation & Parks Dept Shamrock Shuffle served as the season opener for this year’s NHGP. 80 members of the Upper Valley Running Club toed the line and notched up a total of 227 team points on the day, nearly double that of the defending champion Greater Derry Track Club. This is the 2nd largest team score ever posted in Grand Prix history. Individually, Josh Fontaine and Lorna Young were the overall champions. Rob Edson and Betsy Gonnerman, both of the UVRC, took the age-graded honors. The stats are below:
