UVRC Grabs Insurance Points Going Into Final Race

The Convenient MD 10k served as a great event for the 7th NHGP race of the year. Cool weather and a flat course brought forth some fast race times for runners across the state. As for the team competition, 35 members of the Upper Valley Running Club took the trip down to Windham and gathered 185 points to take home a very important victory over host club Greater Derry Track Club, who was 2nd with 167. The Gate City Striders would place a distance third with 75 points. Other NH teams represented include the Granite State Racing Team, Millennium Running, Six03 Endurance, Athletic Alliance Running Club, and the White Mountain Milers.

The overall individual winners on the day were recent Tufts grad Joe St. Pierre and new UVRC member Phoebe Novello. Both broke the previous course records as well as male runner up Sam Fazioli of Whirlaway. The NHGP age-graded titles were won by UVRCs Rob Edson and GDTCs Cathy Merra.
