Windham Flat & Fast 5K results

After the Windham Flat & Fast 5K on June 9th we are now halfway through the 2019 series and it appears that we have quite the race for 1st going on!

Individually Gate City took the crown for both the Men and Women with Jacob Wormald leading the NHGP men (2nd overall) and Katherine Estep leading the NHGP Women (2nd woman overall).

Gate City also took the team competition on the day scoring a total of 187 points to finish 32 points ahead of Greater Derry (155 points). Rounding out the scoring were Upper Valley (98 points), Millennium (21 points), Greater Manchester (11 points), and Rochester (10 points).

The first place finish on the day was enough for Gate City to also put themselves into a narrow first place standing over Upper Valley in the overall team competition:

Gate City Striders: 610

Upper Valley Running Club: 553

Greater Derry Track Club: 456

Gate City Half Marathon results

The 2019 series held it’s third race on May 19th, and the first of two half marathons this year, at the Gate City Half Marathon

Once again we had the same top three, but for the third straight race the order was flipped. In first, defending their home course, were the Gate City Striders with a score of 154 followed next by Upper Valley Running Club (111 points). Rounding out the scoring were the Greater Derry Track Club (63 points), Millennium Running (12 points), and Six03 (5 points).

Individually Jaidiby Zapata  of GDTC was first for the males while Kato Cavallaro of GCS paced the females.

Red’s Race For a Better Community 5M Results

The 2019 series held it’s second race last Sunday, this time moving to Dover for Red’s Race For a Better Cause 5 Miler!

The top three teams remained the same but the order was reversed as The Greater Derry Track Club (GDTC) took first with 127 points. A close second were the Gate City Striders (GCS) with 125 points and Upper Valley Running Club (UVRC) rounded out the top 3 with 115 points.  Despite the third place finish UVRC was able to hold their series lead, now 71 points ahead of the second place GCS.

Individually Jacob Wormald  of GCS pulled off his second straight victory while Sarah Canney won for the women (Sarah St. Martin of the Greater Manchester Running Club was second overall woman, 1st NHGP)

Shamrock Shuffle 5K Results

The 2019 New Hampshire Grand Prix kicked on last Saturday in Lebanon for the Shamrock Shuffle 5K. Windy conditions certainly did not scare away the runners as nearly 1,000 participants crossed the finish line including over 150 runners representing 7 different NHGP clubs!

Upper Valley Running Club held home court and paced the field with 223 points. Second and third were the Gate City Striders and Greater Derry Track club with 142 and 121 points respectively.

Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day 5k Results

The results from the Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day 5k are in! Lead by overall men’s champion Colin Smith, the Gate City Striders took home their 5th race win of the year, extending their lead to a comfortable 300 points over 2nd place Greater Derry Track Club. Courtney Hawkins won the overall women’s title in 18’38 as Millennium Running placed 5th as a team on the day. Charlie Bemis and Elizabeth Gonnerman brought home the top age-graded performances. With just one race to go, the top teams seem to be ironed out as the Striders look to secure their first Grand Prix title since 2011.

Epsom Old Home Days 4 Mile Recap

The NH Grand Prix continued on this past Sunday with the running of the Epsom Old Home Day 4 Miler. For the first time this season, defending team champion Greater Derry Track Club came out on top in a single race, gathering together 67 finishers to collect a total of 183 points on the day. The Gate City Striders and Upper Valley Running Club would place 2nd and 3rd in the team category with 160 and 56 respectively. Gate City still holds a respectable lead on the series standings with two races remaining.

Individually, Gate City’s Brandyn Naro and Greater Derry’s Amy Bernard captured the overall titles while Charlie Bemis (GDTC) and Elizabeth Gonnerman (UVRC) were the top age-graded performers.

Bill Luti 5 Miler Results

With the conclusion of the 51st Bill Luti 5 Miler, the Gate City Striders have extended their lead in the team standings to a spectacular 283 points. Meanwhile, the Greater Derry Track Club presents a nice showing at the Luti to claim 2nd place from the Upper Valley Running Club. Neal Darmody (25’07) and Emily Durgin (26’50) claim the overall titles. Durgin’s time was one of the fastest 5 milers run on NH soil by an open female, blasting Rachel Schilkowsky’s course record by a minute and eight seconds.

Capital City Classic 10k Final Scores

Final results are in for the 2018 Capital City Classic! The series leading Gate City Striders ran the show yet again, bringing home six division winners and nearly doubling the score of their nearest competitor in the team category. Neal Darmody (32’50) and Erin Lane (36’45) claimed the overall individual titles. Team scores summarized below:
